How to help your rabbit or guinea pig live longer and better.

A guinea pig is not a rabbit. Hay is the meal.

1. An adult should have grass hay at all times. Muesli-style diets are inappropriate.

   Fill the rack with hay today, not “gourmet” mix.

2. Guinea pigs do not make vitamin C. Do not put it in the water.

   Give guinea-pig pellets (not rabbit) and a daily C source.

3. If a rabbit eats less or makes fewer droppings, it is urgent. AEMV asks for a yearly oral exam.

   If it eats less today, call. Do not wait.
